What is Imaging?

Medical imaging involves using a variety of advanced technologies for the purpose of diagnosing, observing, and treating medical ailments. There are several different types of imaging services, including:

The name imaging comes from the devices' abilities to take pictures or 'images' of your muscles, bones, blood vessels and vital organs. Each imaging device performs a unique function, so you may need to have more than one type of imaging service performed for your doctor or advanced practice clinician to diagnose a condition.

Imaging is a wonderful asset to the medical community because it enables doctors and health care professionals to make more informed diagnoses, and to better treat certain conditions.

If White-Wilson's Imaging Department will be performing services for you, please help yourself to the patient instructions provided below, which will help you prepare for your appointment. Additionally, we recommend calling our Imaging Department to make sure all of your questions are answered prior to your service.

Signing Out of Patient Films

In order to help us better serve you, please provide your request for records at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance when possible.

A picture ID and signed authorization are required when someone other than the patient is picking up patient films. We uphold this policy for your privacy and protection.
