About Margaret Avery, APRN
Margaret Avery, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at the White-Wilson Internal Medicine in Fort Walton Beach. Following 35 years of experience as a registered nurse, APRN Avery wanted to do more to enhance patients’ health and well-being, which led her to earn a Master of Science in Nursing at South University in Savannah, Georgia.

In addition to her extensive career, APRN Avery had served as an army nurse with a combat hospital for 13 years. She also acquired valuable experience working alongside a colorectal surgeon, honing her skills in Ostomy and Wound Care.

With her compassionate nature, APRN Avery is adept at providing patients and family emotional support. She believes that providing personalized care ensures patients feel comfortable with their treatment. Her extensive nursing experience enables her to effectively treat a wide range of patients and conditions. She specializes in diagnosing and managing chronic diseases, postoperative care and preventive medicine.

Outside of work, APRN Avery finds pleasure in reading, cooking and baking. She also enjoys quality time with her husband, three grandchildren and two cats.
