About Dr. Hughes
Shawn G. Hughes, D.O., is a board-certified pain management physician practicing at the White-Wilson Pain Management Clinic in Fort Walton Beach. After working for 13 years as a registered nurse, he received his doctor of osteopathy degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Hughes went on to complete his residency at the University of Florida School of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and his fellowship training at the University of Florida Department of Anesthesiology - Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is accepting new pain management patients in Fort Walton Beach.

Dr. Hughes is committed to comprehensive, efficient and compassionate pain management. He is a firm believer in the ability to heal, as well as to provide comfort to others in times of illness or duress. He truly enjoys the opportunity to care for patients across a wide spectrum of age and medical complexities. Due to his experience with friend and family member illnesses, he has a particular empathy for patients with painful conditions.

As a pain management physician, Dr. Hughes specializes in chronic pain and multimodal pain management, back pain (including cervical, thoracic and lumbar pain), joint pain, complex regional pain syndrome and neuromodulation. He approaches patient care by addressing the whole person and adhering to evidence based practices.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Hughes enjoys carpentry, collecting comic books, movies, golf and spending time with his wife and two children.
