Our pulmonologists are one of the only groups in the Florida panhandle proficient in performing an exciting new minimally invasive bronchoscopic technique called navigational bronchoscopy (ENB) with super dimension and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
Navigational bronchoscopy allows our pulmonologists to accurately navigate to small, outlying pulmonary target lesions using something similar to GPS technology. This technique allows our pulmonologists to reach lesions that were otherwise inaccessible without higher risk procedures. Navigational bronchoscopy is at the forefront of the evaluation of lung nodules, and has significantly impacted the face of lung cancer care by allowing for earlier diagnosis, significantly lower procedural risks and improved survival rates.
Endobronchial ultrasound is currently the most effective, minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose all diseases that cause enlarged lymph nodes and for the staging of lung cancer, with the lowest procedural risk.
As leaders in pulmonary medicine, our Fort Walton Beach pulmonologists are one of the only groups in the Florida panhandle with the skillset to perform both procedures at the same time, conferring all the benefits of an earlier, more accurate diagnosis.
