About Tamara McKelvy, APRN
Tamara McKelvy, APRN set out to be an artist, but when she was a young mom and art student an experience with a nurse practitioner changed her course in life. When her son was ill and she struggled to find answers, it was a nurse practitioner who took the time to thoroughly evaluate her son’s condition and offer the answers they needed. It was then that she knew that level of compassion and healing was what she wanted to be able to extend to others.

She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Alabama and has since provided care for more than 30 years. APRN McKelvy is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support and has worked in providing emergency medicine to veterans and diverse communities.

As part of the White-Wilson Immediate Care team, APRN McKelvy treats urgent illnesses and injuries. She specializes in common illnesses, sprains and strains and minor accidents. APRN McKelvy is honored to have the opportunity to care for people when they are not at their best. She strives to connect deeply with each person in her care so that she can see beyond surface-level symptoms and truly support them.

APRN McKelvy has a growing family of five children and eleven grandchildren. Two of her daughters have even followed in her footsteps and become nurses. In her spare time, she enjoys the arts and collects crystals.
