FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida–October 22, 2020—On Thursday, White-Wilson Medical Center announced that it will be expanding to the Crestview community. The multi-specialty group has been serving the area since 1946 and is currently home to more than 75 health care providers.
"One of our central beliefs is that all in our community deserve access to quality care, close to home," said White-Wilson CEO Alan Gieseman. "There are thousands of patients who live in Crestview but travel to our other clinic locations for care. This expansion will make seeing top-quality health professionals more convenient for those patients and others who live in Crestview and surrounding areas. It has been our desire to better serve the community, and we are excited to have the opportunity to now make it a reality."
White-Wilson has reached an agreement with North Okaloosa Physician Group to purchase two clinic locations. The first is located at 130 E. Redstone Avenue and will be the site for pediatric and adult care. The second is an Immediate Care clinic located at 1332 North Ferdon Boulevard, in the Winn-Dixie shopping center. They will begin operations at both locations on November 2.
"White-Wilson will be a welcomed addition to our medical community," stated Ronnie Daves, North Okaloosa Medical Center CEO. "Timely access to health care is essential for a community to thrive. White-Wilson has been providing excellent care for decades, so we look forward to working side-by-side to ensure we can meet a full range of needs right here at home."
White-Wilson's Crestview locations will enhance their network, which currently includes locations in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Navarre and Niceville. They are an independent, physician-owned organization and one of the top 15 largest employers in Okaloosa County. Their expansion will soon bring new jobs to the Crestview community.
"The need for care is great, so plans are in place to bring additional well-trained physicians to the market quickly," continued Gieseman. "By doing so, we will be able to provide extended and weekend hours in Immediate Care, along with offer a diverse team of pediatricians and adult medicine providers."
Gieseman noted that the Immediate Care clinic will offer rapid COVID-19 testing and provide care to patients ages 3 and up. X-RAY imaging capabilities will be added in the coming weeks, so that the clinic will have the capability to not only provide sick care, but to also provide treatment for a range of injuries.
Two longtime Crestview physicians will be joining White-Wilson: Pediatrician Mervin Manuel, MD and Internist Vincente Mendez, MD. Both will continue providing care at their 130 E. Redstone Avenue clinic location.
