FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida – October 9, 2014 — The White-Wilson Community Foundation (WWCF) played host to the 28th Annual H.C. White Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, September 26. The long-standing event, formerly hosted by the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, has supported local causes since 1986. This year, all event proceeds benefitted WWCF in its mission to make our community the healthiest on Earth.
The charity tournament was a great success raising over $9,000 for community health services and education. Four-man teams of golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at the Golf Course at Bluewater Bay, filled with games, activities and cocktails. Lunch was provided by Golden Corral and dinner from Hurricane Wings and Grill.
"The H.C. White Charity Golf Tournament is not only a fun event, but a way to honor Dr. White's legacy of health and service in our community," said White-Wilson Community Foundation Vice President, Alan Gieseman. "Because of the support of our golfers and sponsors, we can continue to impact the health of our community."
WWCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton Counties. The group works to combat local health issues through service, education and fundraising. For more information on WWCF, visit whitewilsoncommunityfoundation.org.
