FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida–February 1, 2017—White-Wilson Medical Center has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home™. This distinction affirms White-Wilson's use of evidence-based approaches to quality and their commitment to building partnerships between patients and their primary care physician.
"NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients," said NCQA President Margaret E. O'Kane. "Recognition shows that White-Wilson Medical Center has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time."
The Patient-Centered Medical Home is a model of primary care that emphasizes a team-based approach to improve care, patient experience and reduce costs. Each patient's care is overseen by a clinician-led team that coordinates care across the health care system. White-Wilson clinics in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Navarre and Niceville are the only health care facilities in these communities to earn the Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition.
"Our focus is on working together to provide quality care for our patients," said White-Wilson CEO Alan Gieseman. "We strive to consistently meet our patient's needs and ensure that they have access to care when they need it. We believe that a team-based approach is the best way to care for our community and are proud to have earned NCQA's highest level of Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition."
White-Wilson's Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition is valid for three years. NCQA standards align with the joint principals established with the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.
