FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida –October 11, 2016—White-Wilson Medical Center's halls and exam rooms are often teaming with children, but this time, so was the parking lot. In celebration of their 70th anniversary, White-Wilson invited it's patients and the community to join them for a for a family-friendly celebration. The event took place on Saturday, October 8.
Local families enjoyed bounce houses, face painting, games and activities. Fort Walton Beach Mayor Mike Anderson was on hand and read a proclamation honoring White-Wilson's 70-year commitment to providing quality health care to the community and some lucky attendees left with door prizes like a Fit Bit or $70 gift card.
White-Wilson Medical Center got its start in 1946, when Dr. Henry White opened a medical clinic on Brooks Street in Fort Walton Beach. The location served as the community's health center and a home for his family. In 1952, Dr. White was joined by his medical school classmate Dr. Joseph Wilson. This formed the White-Wilson name that still stands.
Over the last 70 years, White-Wilson Medical has continued to grow to meet the community's health care needs. Today, the center provides over 20 specialties of medicine and has locations in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Navarre and Niceville.
